The Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir, which has the collaboration of the City Council of Cartagena, will offer its voices to Lent and Cartagenera Holy Week with several performances.
The first will take place on Saturday, March 7, in the so-called Resurrexit of the Royal and Illustrious Brotherhood of Our Father Risen Jesus, with a Eucharistic scene (Haec est Díes) commissioned to the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir by the Brotherhood when he fulfilled his golden wedding , for the year 1993, for a solemn act that has been repeated annually since then.
On Sunday, March 15 at 7:45 p.m., at the Church of San Fulgencio in Cartagena, he will offer his traditional concert of Religious Choral Music.
A concert under the baton of the Choral Director, Pedro Andrés García and which will be accompanied by the special pianist Mariano Lazáry.
On Wednesday, March 25, he will participate in the great act of the California Brotherhood during Lent (La Salve Grande) with the Salve de Manuel Hernández Espada that has been sung by Carthagonova Coral for thirty-five years.
On Thursday, April 2, at 7:00 p.m., he will offer his voices to the Virgin of Charity on the last day of his Novena.
The last performance will take place at the door of Santa María in the collection of the Procession of Silence on Holy Thursday.
Already in 1983 it is recorded the participation of the Carthagonova Coral in the Miserere at the passage of Ecce Homo in the Procession of Silence on Holy Thursday.
Since then the Carthagonova Polyphonic Choir has been singing it every Holy Thursday at the door of Santa María.
A Miserere composed of Pedro J. Giménez and transcribed in four voices and orchestrated by Gregorio García Segura has been recovered.
