Mayor Ana Belén Castejón explained this morning the result of the work of the Housing and Intermediation Assistance Service (SAVI) throughout the past year 2019, in which the foreclosures went from 10 from 2018 to 4, reducing by 60% .
Over the past year, the number of people served at SAVI has been 346, highlighting the paralysis of launches, which has gone from 39 to 68 in 2019. “This data is very significant because it has been a consequence of the appearance on the scene of the so-called Vulnerability Report, which has allowed us this increase in the eviction suspension during the aforementioned year, with the completion of a total of 41 reports, â€said the mayor.
On the other hand, the Extraordinary Social Services Aid, which are subsidies for housing and housing needs, are estimated at about 90 applications per year.
The same applies to the attention regarding Public Promotion Housing that remains practically at the same level as in the previous year, with 28 lawsuits.
On the other hand, the SAVI has detected a new housing problem, the progressive rise in rental defaults and usurpations, increasing by one third as they have gone from 120 to 170. In that sense, Castejón has indicated that “last year we launched a new resource, the Rental Insurance for owners.
Its implementation has not been simple and 13 policies have been made.
For this reason, this year we will make a more ambitious campaign to disseminate this resource. â€
The figures were released during the meeting of the Housing Board, which was attended by the Minister of Development, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, in addition to the Vice Mayor Noelia Arroyo, the Deputy Mayor, Manuel Padín, the Councilor Delegate of Social Services, Mercedes García Gómez, representatives of the EAPN, of the Platform Affected by the PAH Mortgage, the Federation of Neighborhood Associations, the Columbares Association, the Association of Real Estate Companies, the bar associations and attorneys, as well as banking entities.
AGREEMENT WITH THE REGIONAL GOVERNMENT
During this meeting, the City Council and the Autonomous Community have presented the agreement to collaborate in the management of public promotion housing in the municipality, with the triple objective of giving vulnerable families the possibility of accessing promotional housing public, promote the rehabilitation of these properties and facilitate the purchase to legal tenants.
For his part, the Minister of Development and Infrastructure, José Ramón Díez de Revenga, pointed out the main role that municipalities have in the management of social housing, given that 'they are the ones in the front line, those who know perfectly the needs Township'.
In this sense, Díez de Revenga has explained that the first thing that will be done with the social housing park that the government of the Autonomous Community has in Cartagena, which amounts to 257, will be to 'gradually put it into value, in stages, affecting two issues, on the one hand, improve habitability by rehabilitating these homes and making them comfortable homes and, on the other, encouraging the tenants of those houses to become owners of them. '
This is a work that will be done jointly with the City Council and, as announced by the counselor, part of the budget of the Autonomous Community of this year, still to be approved, will be allocated to the rehabilitation of a part of these homes.
The entry for the value of the CARM social housing park is 200,000 euros.
"There is no specific item, but as soon as the budget is approved, it will be determined what amount will go to that action in Cartagena," he said.
In the coming days, the Strategic Plan for medium-term joint action between the City Council and the Autonomous Community regarding social housing will be signed.
