José Luis López de Silanes affirms in an act of FREMM and AEMIN that he will have the regional industrial maintenance companies in his new strategy of greater environmental commitment.
José Luis López de Silanes, president of the Hydrocarbons Logistics Company (CLH), announced that his Group is committed to energy sustainability without ruling out the role that oil will play.
The statement was made during an event organized by the Regional Federation of Metal Entrepreneurs of Murcia (FREMM) and its Association of Industrial and Naval Maintenance (AEMIN).
At the presentation of the event, the president of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Cartagena, Ana Correa, the president of FREMM, Alfonso Hernández Zapata, and the president of AEMIN, Tomás Martínez Pagán, participated.
The manager said that from the Cartagena plant, a new sustainability strategy will be launched, as in the rest of the company, with the aim of being carbon neutral in 2050. To this end, he commented that the company will act by improving in the energy efficiency of its equipment, technological innovation, the use of renewable energy-driven pipelines and the collaboration with the oil sector in the development and supply of eco-fuels.
During a conference entitled “The oil sector in a transitional environment”, held at the COEC auditorium, López de Silanes stressed that “fossil fuels will continue to play an important role in the coming years, until the new technologies are relevant ”;
underlining, also, "the efforts being made by the automobile and oil industry to limit their emissions, with increasingly efficient engines and cleaner fuels."
The top leader of the energy company, which is a leader in the transport and storage of petroleum products in Europe and one of the main companies in this sector in the world, argued that the transition to decarbonization is carried out taking into account all energy sources available and respecting technological neutrality.
Leaving, he added, that the market continues to innovate until it finds the best cost-efficiency solution, without prejudging what the winning technology will be.
Cooperation with Murcia companies
The president of AEMIN and vice president for Cartagena of FREMM, Tomás Martínez Pagán, showed the president of the CLH Group the potential of Murcia companies as suppliers of products and services, especially in the field of industrial maintenance.
The Murcian businessman made available to López de Silanes the experience, knowledge, innovation, technology and spirit of cooperation of regional companies, which are the best strategic partner to further consolidate the presence of CLH in Cartagena, whose plant is connected to the Port , Repsol and the Alicante airport.
