The Association of Crohn's Patients and Ulcerative Colitis of Cartagena (ACCU Cartagena), has carried out a photographic exhibition under the title 'Sequences of Life' with images of real patients made by the photographer Joaqun Gir.
The exhibition was inaugurated on Monday, March 2, with the presence of the deputy mayor, Manuel Padn and the Councilor for the Area of Culture and Equality, David Martnez.
It will remain open to the public until March 27 from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday at the Ramn Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center.
The objective of the exhibition is to give real and different visibility of the concept that society has about people affected by inflammatory bowel disease.
Demonstrate through the image that these pathologies can be suffered, but with the appropriate medical treatments it is possible to have an active work and social life, achieving an inclusion without prejudice.
ACCU SPAIN
The ACCU Spain confederation was born as an association in 1987, its objectives are to morally and physically help people affected by inflammatory bowel disease and their families.
Promote research and dissemination of medical, therapeutic, care, socio-economic and any other aspects that may derive from IBD.
Promote the principle of self-help, equal opportunities between men and women, the participation of young people in all social spheres, as well as comprehensive care for children and the elderly and the promotion of volunteering.
JOAQUIN GiRÓ FERNANDEZ (CARTAGENA, 1968)
Professional photographer, specialized in the development of advertising and editorial projects.
For more than ten years it has been required by numerous advertising agencies to develop the photographic work of their campaigns.
He has published in various graphic media, likewise, you can see his photographs in publications such as “Cartagena, sea port” of the lunwerg publishing house and the book “lights to the west”, this last project was directed and also accompanied by an exhibition photographic in collaboration with the "Cehiform" (Historic Photographic Center of the Region of Murcia).
In recent years, he has carried out projects, both photographic and in digital video support, for the "Centro Prraga". Since 2004 he has been very intensively recycling his "classical" training, in favor of the new technologies applied to the image in all its slopes: He currently directs the digital action department of "Art Visual Media".
