Yesterday, Saturday, February 29, Level 2 (Corrective) was recorded for suspended particles at the La Aljorra measurement station, and Level 1 (Preventive) at the Alumbres, Escombreras Valley and Mompeán stations.
Yesterday's daily average at these stations exceeded the 50µg / m3 value, which meant exceeding the daily limit value of the 35 times allowed per year according to current environmental legislation.
Specifically, yesterday's daily average at La Aljorra station exceeded the value of 80µg / m3, which implies the correction of the Corrective Level 2 established in the framework action protocol;
while the average in the stations of Alumbres, Valle de Escombreras and Mompeán exceeded the value 50µg / m3 which implies the registration of Preventive Level 1.
Aljorra: 96 µg / m3
Altitudes: 66 µg / m3
Mompean: 73 µg / m3
Escombreras Valley: 68 µg / m3
As will be remembered this episode coincides with the intrusion of air masses of African origin over the south of the Iberian Peninsula and the Canary Islands, predicting that it can be maintained until Monday, March 2.
In accordance with the framework action protocol, the City Council maintains the recommendations to the population that issued Saturday, when level 3 alert was activated:
