The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón and the vice mayor of Cartagena, Noelia Arroyo, reported this Friday, February 28, at a meeting held with the dean of the Bar Association, Antonio Navarro, and the dean of the Bar Association, Alejandro Lozano , that from the City Council new alternative locations will be presented for the provisional installation of Courts.
The first mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, will meet with the representatives of the Ministries of Justice and Defense to discuss the purchase of the plot of the Subsistence Factory of the Navy for its subsequent assignment for the construction of the City of Justice.
The Ministry of Justice has sent a letter to the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, informing her that this meeting will be convened shortly to respond to the demands of the City Council and the Cartagena society.
“The Cartagena judicial party has serious deficiencies that need to be resolved as soon as possible and I notified the Ministry, whose response has been that the meeting will be held shortly with representatives of the Ministry of Defense.
There are many issues to negotiate and we need answers as soon as possible, ”said the mayor.
In the meeting this Friday, Castejón explained to the deans that the City Council plans to take advantage of the meeting with Justice to expose several alternative locations for the installation of new courts.
The mayor also said that "we need the creation of a Court of First Instance and another of the Commercial Court, as claimed by the Bar Association, the Superior Court of Justice and the General Council of the Judiciary, in addition to the City of Cartagena itself We have already offered two locations that the ministry rejected, but in spite of that, we will continue to propose alternatives because we are fully aware that we must respond to this need. ”
