The Regional Government blocks the start-up of the pumping station of the Rambla de El Albujón by delaying the authorization necessary for its operation with the necessary legal guarantees.
The pumping station is ready for operation once the Regional Government grants the necessary and essential authorization to comply with all legal requirements.
The counselor delays its commissioning on the grounds that such authorization will be delayed for two months, something that demonstrates the Regional Government's null intention to implement measures that help to recover the Mar Menor.
The Secretary of the Mar Menor of the PSOE in Cartagena, Margarita Cerón, has indicated that "The problem of the Mar Menor is the twenty-five years of government of the Popular Party where they repealed laws for the protection of the salt lagoon and permissive policies with activities that harmed the Sea Less".
In addition, he added "Discharges must be stopped and avoided at source, prohibiting or limiting the activities that generate them. And that is the exclusive competence of the Regional Government."
Therefore, the PSOE in Cartagena, requires the Regional Government to accelerate the processing of the pending authorization, and proceed to take the necessary measures to prevent the filtration of nutrients at source.
