360 athletes participated on Thursday, February 27 at the Sports Palace in the municipal phase of "Playing Athletics" in the Benjamin category, which takes place within the "Program of Physical Activity and Sports in School Age" organized by the Department of Sports of the City Council of Cartagena in collaboration with the General Directorate of Sports of the Region of Murcia.
In this edition, participation records have been broken again with 36 schools in the municipality (four more than last year) that met with teams in male and female.
Sports, in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Athletics Club El Cano and the Athletics Club Cartagena have coordinated a device made up of technicians from the Department, athletics judges, volunteers from the Tafad of the Mediterranean IES and 12 buses for the displacement of the participants and teachers.
The first and second classified schools will represent Cartagena in the Regional Final to be held on March 5 in Cartagena.
The disputed tests were a 10x10 meter race, soft javelin throwing, jumps to feet together from a standstill, medicine ball throwing, obstacle side jump, 5x1 relays and grand prix.
