On Saturday, February 29, the proclamation of the processions of the Holy Week in Cartagena 2020 will take place. The person in charge of prolonging and exalting this cultural and religious tradition will be the curator and chronicler of the Marraja Brotherhood, Pedro María Ferrández García.
The event, which will also honor the Nazarene Mayor 2020, Manoli Borrego, will begin at 7 pm at the New Circus Theater.
Admission will be free until capacity is completed and can be followed online, through the municipal YouTube channel.
The ceremony as usual will be initiated by the mayor to welcome and pass the word to the president of the Board of Brotherhoods, a position currently held by the elder brother Marrajo, Francisco Pagan, who will make a semblance of the crier and the Nazarene.
They will be the prolegomena of the proclamation of Pedro María Ferrández, whose text as a book will be given to those attending the completion of the act.
During his speech, it is planned to listen to fragments of Holy Week music, under the direction of the Sauces Musical Group.
After reading the proclamation, the mayor will give him and the Nazarene the plates accrediting their appointments as well as a gold shield and a brooch.
The evening will end with the words of the Nazarene and the closing of the act by the mayor.
