Comparsa Mujeres Guerreras left on Monday, February 24 through the streets of the Villalba neighborhood, with a Carnival parade to which all the neighbors were invited to participate.
This initiative has been held for the fourth consecutive year in the framework of these festivities and, as usual, it coincides with the Monday following the Carnival parade in the city.
In addition, in this edition the participation has been extended to neighbors who do not belong to the troupe but who actively contributed to the development of the activity.
The Association of young people of Villalba, recently constituted, collaborated in the organization and realization of this day and many neighbors joined the parade that culminated in the social premises where the work of women performed this year was shown.
As a novelty, it has been the first time that the troupe has presented a candidate for the Carnival Queen and its president and vice president were in the Murcia Conecta program last Friday, spreading the work they do.
Point out that all decisions in the Comparsa are agreed upon, they design and carry out their costumes and that makes the community and union feeling prime.
For its part, the City Council of Cartagena, through the Department of Social Services, works with Abraham Project in the Villalba neighborhood and in the ALBA Community Care Project, funded through the Gypsy Development Plan.
This project works in the areas of health, education, employment, culture, participation and citizenship and the area of social inclusion.
Through individualized and group attention, the improvement of the conditions of the neighborhood and the people that compose it is affected.
