The Canarian writer Daniel Hernández Chambers will visit Cartagena on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 February to hold meetings with students of 5th and 6th grade of schools in Cartagena and its region.
The boys have read and worked on the book The Girl Who Collected Stamps and the Boy Who Waited for a Train from Anaya Publishing House.
TURNOS OF THE MEETINGS
FIRST DAY
On Tuesday, February 25, the author will have the first meeting at 9:30 in the Cultural Center Library, in the auditorium.
Afterwards, the morning will continue at the Manuel Puig Campillo Library, in Barrio Peral.
And they will be attended by students from Marist and San Felix schools.
SECOND DAY
On Wednesday, February 26, you will have the three sessions of meetings at the Rafael Rubio de los Dolores Library.
From 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
There he will meet with students from the Sacred Heart, Fernando Garrido and San Cristóbal schools.
BIOGRAPHICAL NOTES
He was born in 1972 in Tenerife, although a few years later he moved to Alicante.
After graduating in English Literature at the University of Alicante he lived a season in London.
He combines the creation of his own narrative works with translation.
In 2004 his first book, "The Gray City", was a finalist in the Gran Angular prize.
He was again a finalist in the same prize in 2007 with "The Rosenthal Enigma", a book with which he was also a finalist in the Altea Prize for the Arts - Novaltea in 2008. In 2012 he was awarded the Everest Youth Prize he won with his work "A fragment of night in a jar."
In 2016 he won the Delta Wing Award for Children's Literature, with the novel “El secreto de Enola”, and in 2017 the Alandar Prize for Juvenile Literature, with “Miralejos”.
In 2018 he obtained the one of the XXXVII Children's Narrative Contest Vila d'Ibi with the work entitled “The girl who collected stamps and the boy who was waiting for a train”.
