The Concert of the Young Symphony Orchestra of Cartagena (JOSCT), framed in the XXIII Edition of the Festival Between Strings and Metals, and organized by the Department of Youth of the City Council and the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, will be held on February 29 , at 20:00 hours, at the Casino de Cartagena, with free admission until full capacity is paid in a special tribute to Beethoven for the anniversary of his birth 250 years ago.
In the presentation ceremony, the Councilor for the Youth Area, David Martínez, the conductor of the Orchestra, Álvaro Pintado and the president of the Orchestra, Álvaro Valdesueiro, appeared.
The mayor of Youth, David Martínez, stressed that "the JOSCT develops a high concert activity in Cartagena and offers a great opportunity for young musical talents to train to reach their full potential as musicians and performers, in addition to enriching at the same time , the social and cultural environment, and promote the dissemination of music in the city. "
The programming of this special concert is entirely dedicated to Beethoven in commemoration of the 250th anniversary of his birth.
In the first part, Guillermo Pintado will interpret the Sonata for piano nº6 in F major, one of the most rigorous contributions to the history of key music of all times.
In the second part, the JOSCT wind group, with the type of group called 'harmoniemusik', will offer a unique and different opportunity to listen to Beethoven's Symphony No. 7 under the baton of director Álvaro Pintado.
The president of the Orchestra, Álvaro Valdesueiro, has indicated that with this concert there is "the kick-off to a 2020 that arrives loaded with activities for the young orchestra. After the concert they will reconvene tests of access to the JOSCT, orchestra that in March he will hold a concert with Holy Week marches and participate in the Museum Night with a surprise, in addition to continuing to work for the traditional summer concert. "
The projects of the JOSCT are increasing both in number and in public, and the results translate into quality, professionalism and artistic maturity.
The conductor of the Orchestra, Álvaro Pintado, encourages "to assist anyone even if they are not familiar with classical music, because it will be a great opportunity to discover a type of energy-laden work that will reach the public."
