The Cartagena Creative City Collective is a group of seventeen women and an indefinite number of collaborators, from different artistic disciplines that will fill the city of Cartagena next May with activities that aim to raise awareness of a sustainable city model.

The councilor of the Area of Equality, David Martnez, in the presentation of the group that took place this Friday, February 21, has explained that these are creative women from different fields that “allow us to hear reality without limits, with each of their sounds, and interpret it from various voices. ”

The collective has been created to develop a common project: Objective 11. This is one of the seventeen sustainable development goals (SDGs) of the UN.

And in turn, this program is linked to a major project of the University of Murcia, called "Odsesiones" that invites to know each of the SDGs.

On the other hand, one of the members of the group, the sociologist, Marina Muoz, stressed that they are very different women with different opinions, but with one point in common: objective 11. The sociologist explained that they have programmed a calendar of activities connected between Yes, they are divided into three campaigns:

- Educate with R: it consists of several activities focused on the development of sustainable creativity workshops developed in various schools in the municipality.

Activity coordinated by the plastic artist, Maria Jose Lluch.

- Design with R: connect with the previous workshops, because throughout the month of May a route will be created between the shops where children can place all the works they have developed in these creative workshops.

-And finally, the most extensive campaign: Root and Art in the streets with R: a set of activities related to a central activity: “Streets with history”, coordinated by the bookseller, Ana Escarabajal, and consisting of six guided routes through Cartagena, with the aim of putting value to the historical heritage of the city.

In addition, there will be an Itinerant Exhibition of paintings made by the artists, which will leave through the same geographical areas where the planned routes will be made, which will conclude with a final exhibition with the artists and children artists.
