The Festival + Q MUSAS returns with its Music for Equality against Gender Violence (21/02/2020)

The Third Edition of + Q Musas Fest, Music for Equality and Against Violence against Women, will be celebrated on Saturday 8 March in the courtyard of March 8 the Faculty of Business Sciences, former CIM at 9:30 p.m.

The cultural event is organized by the City Council of Cartagena through the Department of Equality, with funding from the credits received from the Ministry of the Presidency, Relations with the Courts and Equality (Secretary of State for Equality);

and the collaboration of the UPCT.

The Councilor of the Area of ​​Equality, David Martínez, explained that + Q Musas Fest is consolidated after two successful editions, which is based on musical proposals prepared and performed by women, in a vindictive and conscientious way.

The mayor stressed that "the objective of the event is to attract attention and claim the creators, whose work has historically been ignored despite their worth, simply because they are women. Highlighting the great artistic quality of the music from our country, both emerging and consolidated. "

On the other hand, the head of Equality of the UPCT, María José Lucas, said that for the university it is an honor to be able to collaborate in this event.

"The UPCT always fights for gender equality and everything that is visible the role of women, so often hidden, through these activities is a pride," he concluded.

Finally, Antonio Peña, organizer of the event, pointed out that this year a "very interesting" poster has been set up with the party and dancing as the main reason.

The entrance will have the symbolic cost of € 2 that will be donated to the Ana Bella Foundation, a private non-profit entity that already has 20,000 volunteers fighting for a society free of violence.

ARTISTS

In this edition, Marinah will be featured as the main artist, with the artistic name with which Marina Abad is presented, who was for ten years a singer and main image of the Catalan band Ojos De Brujo.

And that once that adventure was over, she undertook a solo career, which has taken her around the world presenting discs full of joyful songs that comfortably unfold between rumba, reggae and flamenco, between Afro styles and Latin music , between Cuba and hip-hop, cumbia and the sounds of current electronics.

Also present will be the artist Alba Díaz, artistically known as "La Negra", a young singer with a strong experience in Flamenco.

Alba also loves the good fusion with other musics and does not hesitate to do so demonstrating its versatility and potential.

By the end of the night we will have DJ Carrie Palmer, an artist who has gradually become one of the usual names of Murcian night.

Sessions with a different proposal, with the clear intention of making everyone who gets ahead dance and have fun.

An open-minded artist, and that bets on new styles and the fusion with an eclectic taste based on a deep musical knowledge.

Tickets go on sale from Friday, February 21 and can be purchased through the ticket server Compralaentrada.com, Cafeteria Soldadito de Plomo and at the box office one hour before the event.
