The Association Human Direction of the Region of Murcia and Qualitis have organized the day 'Active and healthy aging' to be held on Wednesday, February 26, from 9 am to 11 am, at the facilities of the Port Authority of Cartagena.
The opening will be in charge of Yolanda Muñoz, president of the APC, Josefa Jiménez, president of the Association Human Direction and director of human resources of Auxiliar Conservera;
and Matías García, province director of Cualtis.
In addition, the conference will feature the presentation of Juan Carlos Rueda, doctor of medicine, specialist in occupational medicine in Qualis and responsible for the medical service at SABIC.
The global aging of the Spanish population centers the challenge in increasing the quality of life of the elderly, which will allow them to maintain activity and independence.
Therefore, active aging refers to the process by which opportunities for physical, social and mental well-being are optimized throughout life, with the aim of extending healthy life expectancy, productivity and quality of life in old age , as defined by the World Health Organization (WHO).
A definition that not only contemplates aging from health care, but also incorporates all the factors of the areas of health, economy, work, education, justice, housing and transport, which affect the aging of people.
On this day, the tools and initiatives that can be put in place from the companies to promote active and healthy aging of their employees will be addressed.
