The Minister of Employment, Research and Universities, Miguel Motas, held a separate meeting today, as a matter of urgency and at the express request of the President of the Government, Fernando López Miras, with representatives of the SABIC works council, representatives of the Regional Service of Employment and Training (SEF), the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, and the general director of the company, Juan Alemany, “to put at your disposal all the necessary means of the SEF and the rest of the Autonomous Administration for the closure announced by this company in one of its production plants, which affects 95 workers, be the least traumatic way, â€said Motas.
“As we did before the recent case of Agrasa, in Águilas, in which more than 400 people were affected, we wanted to know first hand what the situation is, with the aim of being able to activate all the resources we have and that the situation is resolved as soon as possible and in the best possible way, â€added the counselor.
In addition to mediating among all the agencies involved, the counselor asked the head of SABIC "to know the objectives in the medium and long term in order not to generate uncertainty among the population."
Among the measures contemplated by the Ministry to help the 95 workers affected in their return to the world of work, is training support.
To this end, an integrative action plan has been developed with various measures aimed at offering individualized attention to the affected workers, the streamlining of administrative procedures for obtaining financial aid and the intermediation that allows possible relocations within the same company. or in others.
