The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, has held this morning, February 20, a meeting with the employment counselor, Miguel Motas, in which both have analyzed the situation caused by the decision of the Sabic company to close one of its Four floors in the complex of La Aljorra.

Situation that affects a total of 96 direct jobs.

“This is a very delicate moment, especially for workers who are affected, so we must coordinate administrations and share all the information we have available.

We want to work together, using both the SEF and the ADLE, to study the profiles of each and every employee and help them find work alternatives, ”said Castejón.

Both parties have agreed that, once the meetings convened between the Ministry and Sabic take place, open the possibility of sitting at the same table to the City Council, Autonomous Community and Company Association of the Escombreras Valley, since in that area they are proposing investment projects that can contribute to overcome the crisis caused by the closure of this plant.

The meeting was also attended by the director of the SEF, Aurelio Morales;

the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo;

the deputy mayor, Manuel Padín;

and the mayor responsible for Employment and president of the ADLE, Irene Ruiz.
