This year the LXX Edition of the Tennis Challenge Cup is celebrated in its men's edition, which takes place from Sunday, February 23 to the 29 of the same month, at the facilities of the Cartagena Tennis Club, which will be open to the public that Want to enjoy the games.

During the presentation of the tournament, which took place this Thursday, February 20, the councilor of the Sports Area, Diego Ortega, congratulated the Cartagena Tennis Club for recovering the women's tournament, which is celebrating its XXX Cup Edition this year Challenge in the female category.
"Cartagena and tennis seem to live an idyll lately," said the mayor.
While the president of the Cartagena Tennis Club, Pedro Collado, explained that it is one of the oldest tournaments in the national territory, "the prestige of this tournament is given by its players," said Collado.
The president has explained the characteristics of the men's modality of the tournament, it is a scoring tournament for the Spanish Tennis Federation, which will hold its Preliminary Phase on February 23, 24 and 25, composed of 32 players: 26 for best ranking national and 6WC, qualifying four players for the Final Phase.
The table of the Final Phase will be from February 26 to 29, with 16 players, 10 for best national ranking, 2 for WC and 4 from the Preliminary Phase.
On the 29th the final will be played, where the winner of the LXX Men's Edition Cartagena City III Challenge 2020 Cup will be announced.
The president also released the details on the female modality, which this year celebrates its XXX Edition, with its I Challenge City of Cartagena Cup.
The Preliminary Phase will be held on February 24 and 25 with 16 players: 13 for best national ranking and 3WC, qualifying four players for the Final Phase.
And the Final Phase box will also be 16 players, 10 for the best national ranking, 2 for WC and 4 from the Preliminary Phase, which will be played from February 26 to 29, the day the final will be played for proclaim the winner of the XXX Women's Edition Ciudad de Cartagena I Cup Challenge 2020.
Pedro Collado pointed out that the total budget of both tournaments is valued at 14,000 euros.
And with regard to the economic endowment, he has announced the amount for the winners of both modalities that will be 1,000 euros for the champions, 500 euros for the runners-up, 250 euros for the semifinalists, 125 in the quarterfinals, 60 in Round of 16 and 30 for the Pre-Stage players.
Players in the Final Draw will have free accommodation.
For his part, the vice president of the Tennis Federation of the Region of Murcia, Emilio Gómez, has expressed his gratitude to the City of Cartagena for "always being at the foot of the canyon with support for the tournament that is enriched year after year."
