The Federation of AA.VV, Consumers and Users of Cartagena and Comarca "Fernando Garrido" held yesterday, Wednesday, a meeting with the Platform for the withdrawal of the High Voltage Towers of the Santa Ana Polygon to discuss the issue between neighborhoods of said withdrawal.
From the FAVCAC we find it a nonsense that the High Voltage Towers are located a few meters from the homes and a school with the danger that this entails for both adults and children.
The neighborhoods of the area have been demanding their withdrawal since 1999, we are in 2020 and they are still not heard.
They are collecting signatures, have requested a meeting with the Mayor in December and have not yet received an answer, in the same way the United Municipal Group We can present a motion to the Plenary Session of the City Council also in December that was approved by all groups with the abstention of VOX, they held a meeting with Manuel Padín in which they exposed the situation but to date no movement has been made for the withdrawal of the high voltage towers and this is an issue that requires absolute speed.
For all the above, this Federation has decided to support the Platform and work side by side in the elimination of the lines.
We have requested a meeting with the Mayor and another with the head of Iberdrola in the area and we hope that they can be carried out as soon as possible.
We also have planned protest actions so that citizens know the situation that these neighborhoods are going through.
Both the Platform and the FAVCAC hope that everything comes to fruition and that 2020 is the end of a nightmare that has been going on for more than 20 years.
