The Board of Directors of the Association of Friends of the Museum of the Huerta de Murcia unanimously agreed, after a meeting held on January 9, to propose to the city of Cartagena as a guest town hall this year in celebration of Museum Day.
The proposal has been officially communicated this Wednesday to the mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, by the Association of Friends of the Museum of the Huerta de Alcantarilla, together with the mayor of Alcantarilla, Joaquín Buendía.
For Museum Day, each year a character, institution, partner and city council is chosen to attend as protagonists.
On this occasion, the first mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, thanked Cartagena for being the elected city hall, because "it is an honor to participate in an event with such tradition as this."
He also added that having a triptych and a review of the city "is a great opportunity to project it and publicize the culture, traditions and history of Cartagena."
The City Council of Cartagena will also be in charge of proposing the highest distinction of the Museum Day, which will be the orchard or the orchard of the year.
