As is tradition, La Palma celebrates its festivities in honor of its patron saint, Santa Florentina, organized by the Festival Committee of La Palma with the collaboration of the Department of Celebrations of the City of Cartagena.
The official chronicler of Cartagena, José Sánchez Conesa, will make next Saturday, February 22 at 9:30 p.m. in the party tent, on the occasion of the proclamation, a journey through the evolution of the Palmesan celebrations in the last century, the Origin of the rocks, highlighting anecdotal and humorous aspects.
According to the chronicler, some of the missing events should be recovered such as horse racing, of medieval origin, the side of the peddler or the old-fashioned masks of the old carnival.
Subsequently we will proceed to the coronation of the Queen and Juvenile and Children's Ladies.
The next morning, February 23, will be held the successful IV Biker Lunch, at 10:00 am, at the same fairgrounds, where rock concerts, sports tournaments, skill competition will take place during the next conference between rocks, magic show, etc.
On March 9, the XLVII Floral Games of the Campo de Cartagena and Young Poetry Contest will be held, acting as maintainer Francisco Henares Díaz, with a tribute to the Cartagena-born poet Joaquin Ortega.
The celebrations will culminate on Santa Florentina Day on Saturday, March 14.
