Between Monday 24 and Friday 28 February there will be traffic restrictions that will affect the surroundings of María Cristina Square and Jorge Juan Street, for the reform of a sewer box that will be undertaken by the Hidrogea concessionary company.
The Public Road service of the City Council of Cartagena has authorized the completion of these works in the Plaza de María Cristina with Jorge Juan, which will lead to the reduction of one of the Alameda lanes, the closest to the sidewalk of El Corte Inglés , in the section between Almirante Baldasano and Jorge Juan.
Likewise, in the María Cristina square towards Jorge Juan street, the lane closest to the median will be restricted.
The works will consist of the automation of a gate system that exists in that area that regulates sewage water in case of torrential rains.
The current box is operated manually and is very oxidized, which entails a significant danger for employees who must operate it when the flow increases.
It will be replaced by an automatic that will be operated remotely from an operation control room.
