The budget to improve the service provided by the Local Police will increase significantly in the face of 2020, especially in relation to the renewal of vehicles.
The incorporation of 44 new Local Police agents next June, together with the need to renew obsolete mobility equipment and the deterrent police vehicle justify the investment for next year.
Specifically, the 2020 Budget will include an item of 421,778.16 euros that will allow the acquisition of 20 new vehicles to improve the service of the Local Police.
“Having new mobility equipment is essential to provide optimal service to citizens.
The vehicles operate 24 hours a day, so their wear is considerable and continuous renewal is needed, to meet all demands at all times.
Also to complete mobility in the councils we need to renew the van of the unit of the Judicial Mobility Police (overcrowded) and have another transfer van ”, explained the mayor of Citizen Security, Juan Pedro Torralba.
The Multacar, a police deterrent used to control parking lots in lanes and double row has been running since 2006, has serious operating anomalies, and its repair is complex and expensive, since its obsolescence level is quite high, so it has decided to renew it in the year 2020. The forecast of the municipal government is to incorporate 2 vehicles with state-of-the-art systems that have twice as many cameras as their predecessor and that allow simultaneous control of vehicles and infractions on both sides of the road.
“The incorporation of new agents during the year 2020 will be accompanied by the acquisition of 12 vehicles, 6 patrol cars and 6 motorcycles, 4 SUV vehicles will also be incorporated into the service.
The goal is to reach all corners of the municipality with the best benefits by increasing the number of services, ”said Torralba.
TECHNOLOGICAL IMPROVEMENTS AND MORE MATERIAL FOR DRUG TESTS
In order to adapt the service to the needs of the Electronic Administration and the reception or sending of inter-administrative documents required by the Law, we will proceed progressively to renew the computer equipment in Districts, Offices and Communications Room.
"We want to incorporate tablets for access to data from the patrol vehicles themselves and proceed to an extension of the units that allow access to the GESSAN traffic violation management application," said the councilor.
The Citizen Security Service wants to combat the driving of motor vehicles under rates of consumption of toxic drugs, narcotics and psychotropic substances that has become an increasing offense in recent years.
The material for conducting said tests, the chain of custody and saliva analysis, which is carried out by approved laboratories, is expensive but essential, so that the service will also be provided with more tools to combat this problem.
NEW POLICE HOUSE IN NARROW WELL
The 2020 Budget will include an item to begin the construction of a new barracks in the Diputacin de Pozo Estrecho.
“The current property has many deficiencies in habitability, space and security conditions.
The spaces are small for customer service, there is only one toilet and we also have problems in the rooms for clothing and rest area, so it is time to build a new barracks, ”said Torralba.
The planned investment amounts to a little more than 359,000 euros, the works will begin this year and will be multi-annual in order to be completed at the beginning of the year 2021. With the construction of this new barracks, the service and the conditions of work of the 31 agents that serve 24 hours, 265 days of the year in districts 2 and 6, which include the towns of La Aljorra, El Albujn, Pozo Estrecho, Miranda, Santa Ana, Lentiscar, La Palma and Los Doctors, which have a population of 25,000 inhabitants.
