The Socio-Cultural Association Teatro Circo Apolo de El Algar, with the collaboration of La Pecera Cultural Activities, the Teatro Circo Apolo Company and the City Council of Cartagena, through its Department of Culture, has convened for the fifth consecutive year the National Contest of Amateur Theater from Cartagena, which will take place at the Teatro Apollo Circus in El Algar on May 21, 22 and 23, being the closing ceremony and awards ceremony on Saturday, May 30.
Until next April 15, amateur theater groups from all over the country and interested in participating, may submit their applications and the works that are selected will be represented during the contest.
All Spanish-speaking groups residing in the Spanish territory may wish to be part of this contest, provided they have amateur character.
All works must be represented in Spanish and be addressed to an adult audience.
Once the deadline for submitting applications is over, the Selection Committee will proceed to select the three finalist groups plus three reserve groups, taking into account the artistic values ​​of the assemblies and the novelty of the proposals presented.
The main purpose of this event is to encourage and encourage the activity of amateur groups, offering citizens the possibility of approaching the theater and enjoying it.

2nd PRIZE - BEST WORK - € 500 AND TROPHY
3rd PRIZE - BEST WORK - € 200 AND TROPHY
PUBLIC SPECIAL-TROPHY
BEST FEMALE INTERPRETATION - TROPHY
BEST MALE INTERPRETATION - TROPHY
MANAGEMENT AWARD - TROPHY
BEST DEALER ACTOR - TROPHY
BEST SUPPLY ACTRESS - TROPHY
The organization will contribute € 300 for each group selected for travel expenses.
