This morning, the Councilor of the municipal group MC Cartagena, María Dolores Ruiz, reported the communication made by the General Directorate of Cultural Property (DGBC) in response to the requirement made by the Cartagena formation, who called on the regional administration to demand the company that owns the Monastery of San Ginés de la Jara that will execute various actions in this Cultural Interest Site.
In its conclusions, the regional body recognizes that the works of repair of the gate and the perimeter wall were authorized by resolution of the General Directorate, being at the expense of the municipal authorization.
Similarly, delves into the obligation, by the owner, to repair the roofs of auxiliary buildings.
MC promotes the repair of auxiliary buildings
In this sense, the text communicates that the General Directorate has informed the owner about her obligation to provide, within a maximum period of two months, a technical proposal to avoid the progressive deterioration of auxiliary buildings, ensuring, as denounced MC Cartagena on different occasions, that the current state of the real estate may entail the breach by the property of the duty of conservation of the Cultural Heritage of the Region and the beginning of a disciplinary proceedings.
The mayor and head of Heritage, María Dolores Ruiz, said that "once again, the responsible action and work of MC acts as a counterweight to the neglect of others, in this case, especially the local government."
The MC initiative is based on "the poor condition of the houses of farmers and their involvement in the wall", requesting that the owner company be forced to "proceed to repair the auxiliary homes of the Monastery of San Ginés de la Jara and the consolidation of the entire perimeter wall ".
The DGBC affirms that the auxiliary buildings continue being "object of protection", showing, at the same time, that the City Council has not included in the documentation provided "no assessment of the breach of the duty of conservation of the buildings", as well as neither "the declaration of the breach of the duty of conservation to which the urban norm refers".
All this makes an idea, as indicated by the councilor of MC, of the "zero interest of the Government of PP, transfugas and vanes in the protection of our heritage; it seems obvious that the efforts to retain the chair take up too much time."
By way of balance, María Dolores Ruiz has advanced that "we will continue to be vigilant, because nobody escapes that the Autonomous Community and the City Council are responsible for not having completed the recovery of the BIC, which was initiated by José López in 2016 and paralyzed by Castejón as soon as he occupied the Mayor's Office (January 2018), after missing his word and expelling MC ", not forgetting that" Arroyo, as Minister of Culture, and Casajús, as Secretary General, today a prominent part of ' La Trinca ', were not able to comply with the resolution of July 9, 2015. "
The Councilor Cartagener has concluded asserting that the communication received by the DGBC "confirms the institutional abandonment and the obligation to complete the work in the farmhouses. Therefore, we celebrate it, not forgetting all that remains to be done to complete the recovery and use, a use that MC has proposed and that they oppose. "
