The vice mayor and head of the Social Welfare Area, Noelia Arroyo, has defended today in Lo Campano the need for her neighbors to join the coordinator who will work from the neighborhood in the development of the Participatory Local Pact for the prevention of social exclusion.
During a day of living with the name of "Join your neighborhood", which has served as a presentation of the project, Arroyo has stressed to the neighbors that the project "is going to be built with you, is going to work in the neighborhood from within .
This plan is not made for you from an office of the City Council, but is made with you from the center of your neighborhoods.
The vice mayor, who has been in the neighborhood with the delegate of Social Services, Mercedes Garcia, the Councilor for Education and Employment, Irene Ruiz, has highlighted the work that social groups working for integration do in the neighborhood, although He added that "the best way to change things is always from the inside" and has encouraged neighbors to take center stage of the plan.
The project is aimed at social inclusion in the neighborhoods of Santa Lucía, Los Mateos and Lo Campano, where 3,500 neighbors live, and has a budget of close to 1,200,000 euros, financed by the European Social Fund, the City Council of Cartagena and the Collaboration of the Autonomous Community.
The purpose of the Participatory Local Pact is to promote forms of collaboration between administration and neighbors in matters such as housing and public space, entrepreneurship, education or equal opportunities.
The presentation day has had a festive nature and activities such as a convivial meal, a carnival parade, children's games and a band of drums and kites have been developed, among others.
