The Cartagena City Council is still advanced in the prevention and fight against poverty and social exclusion in the municipality.
This noon the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, accompanied by the vice mayor and councilor of the area of ​​Social Welfare, Noelia Arroyo, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, has received the new president of the Network to Combat Poverty of the Region of Murcia (EAPN), Rosa Cano, accompanied by its board of directors.
The meeting has been prior to the meeting of the permanent commission of the Bureau of Social Inclusion and Promotion of Citizenship in the municipality of Cartagena, which the mayor has chaired, and in which the coordination and collaboration work of the Third sector entities with the session.
During the meeting the work agenda in the fight against poverty and social inclusion in the municipality of Cartagena has been established and the creation of a working group to design the study to be carried out in Cartagena on poverty and exclusion has been agreed upon. Social.
Meanwhile, the public presentation of the Cartagena data that appears in the study prepared at the regional level last September will be scheduled and that places the municipality in more favorable positions than other areas of the autonomous community.
Finally it was agreed to have a meeting in a few days of all the technicians of the EAPN entities that work in Cartagena with the social services technicians to know all the actions that in the area of ​​prevention of exclusion and intervention in neighborhoods are doing.
Representatives of all municipal groups of the City Council have been incorporated for the first time to the meeting of the permanent commission.
