100 Baccalaureate students from 11 schools in the Region of Murcia participated this Friday in the X Agrifood and Agro-Environmental Olympiad organized by the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering (ETSIA) of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The objective of this activity is to disseminate the higher education taught in this UPCT center and contribute to the knowledge of the degree and profession of Agricultural Engineer, as well as the importance of agronomists in the agri-food sector in the Region of Murcia.
For this edition, the 100 students have taken a test type test in one of the following three modalities: Industrial Technology, Biology or Earth and Environmental Sciences.
The prizes will be awarded at the end of the delivery of diplomas in the Assembly Hall of the School of Agricultural Engineers of the Polytechnic University of Cartagena.
The participating Secondary Education centers have been: IES Mediterráneo, IES Politécnico, IES Salvador Sandoval, Maristas Cartagena, San Buenaventura Capuchinos, IES Los Molinos, IES Alquibla, IES Alfonso X El Sabio, IES Domingo Valdivieso, IES Jiménez de la Espada, IES Octavio Carpena Artés.
The opening ceremony was attended by the director of the Seneca Foundation, Antonio González, the Rector of the UPCT, Alejandro Díaz and the director of the ETSIA, Arantxa Aznar.
The Olympics is funded by the call for “Aid for the organization of Scientific Olympics in the Region of Murcia and with the Seneca Foundationâ€.
