A total of 440 older people from the different clubs of the municipality gathered on Thursday, February 13 at the Jardin de Los Molinos, in Molinos Marfagones, where they celebrated Valentine's Day with a meal together, paying homage to the couple which takes more time together and later with the traditional Dance of the Lovers, enlivened by the Jet Duo.
The two most lasting marriages were awarded, a couple from the Polygon of Santa Ana who has been married for 59 years, and another from the Quarry Club with 60 years of love, who received a bouquet of flowers and a Valentine's plate.
The Unit for the Elderly and People with Disabilities of the Department of Social Services, together with the Federation of Associations and Centers for the Elderly of Cartagena, carried out this activity in its line of promoting active and healthy aging.
The event was attended by the vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, and the Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García.
