The Subjective Room 'Nicomedes Gómez' of the City Hall, within its line of promotion of young artists, hosts the exhibition 'The photographer's cave: Infinite Identity', by María Garberí, from Cartagena.
The exhibition, which can be visited until April 12, is this Wednesday, February 12, with an act attended by the Councilor for Youth, Education and Culture, David Martínez Noguera, who was with the artist herself.
This is a visual work based on some portrait photographs collected from among a hundred negatives found in a cave, trying to make sense, through small stories, of what had been stripped of all identity and had become waste and dust .
This project was formalized as a small typewritten book that collected each of these stories along with their corresponding photographic negative;
On this occasion, the author invites us to read and / or listen to them.
María, wanted to bring this facility to all people, trying to break through different accessibility barriers.
For this, it has had the collaboration of ONCE, which has consisted in transcribing all the history of the artistic installation to Braille, in an altruistic way, so that all people have the opportunity to enjoy the work.
The Subjective Room is located in the City Hall and its visiting hours are from Tuesday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
on Saturdays, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Sundays, at the same time in the morning as on Saturdays.
