Within the VI Conference of Education for the 21st Century in which the program of the Department of Culture of the City of Cartagena, Cartagena Piensa, collaborates, this Wednesday, February 12, at 7:00 p.m., Hector Conesa Hernández, will offer a talk at the Higher Technical School of Architecture and Building (ETSAE) on circular economy.
Hector Conesa Hernández will try to make the listeners of the talk travel through the economy of materials until they reach the place where everything originates: nature.
And at the other preceding point, a very close area: consumption itself.
In a comparative way, it will explain the different socio-environmental impacts of an economy, the linear and the other, the circular, the eco-social.
And what is the role of the consumer in making one or the other possible.
The circular economy is defined as a new economic and social system that aims at "the production of goods and services while reducing the consumption and waste of raw materials, water and energy sources" according to the Foundation for the Circular Economy.
It is a model that prioritizes the use of resources and the reduction of raw materials.
This system thus becomes an alternative to the current model of extraction, production, consumption and disposal, the linear economic model.
Relevant data and surprising connections will reveal the link with this so-called globalization and how much we can do as sensitized consumers to position ourselves in a global world full of challenges.
Objective?
Preserve the biosphere.
The talk will be presented by Cayetano Gutiérrez Pérez, member of the Organizing Committee of the Conference.
