One of the great events of the Holy Week in Cartagena, the National Saetas Contest, organized by the Marraja Group of the Portapasos de la Virgen de la Piedad, is celebrating its seventh edition this year.
The Semifinals were held on February 7 and 8 at the House of Folklore of La Palma, attended by the Deputy Mayor, Manuel Padín, the Councilor for Tourism and Business, Cristina Pérez and the mayor of the municipal corporation, Arantxa Pérez.
Singers Víctor Palacios (Barcelona), José Luis Díaz Ruíz "El Mojaquero" (Cartagena), Isabel María España (Santa Cruz, Córdoba) and Manuel Gómez Torres "El Ecijano" (Écija, Sevilla) have qualified for the final of the seventh edition of the Saetas de la Piedad Contest in Cartagena, which will be held on March 21 at the Church of Santa María de Gracia.
The previous editions were for the singers Juan Fariña, from Huelva, who won in 2014;
Miguel Ángel Lara Solano 'El Canario', from El Saucejo (Seville), in 2015;
Ana García Caro, from Huelva, in 2016;
Juanito Berrocal, in 2017;
Jesús León, from Seville, in 2018 and Rocío "La Serrano", from Seville, in 2019.
