380 athletes participated today February 6 in the Sports Palace in the municipal phase of "Playing Athletics" in the juvenile category, which is developed within the "Program of Physical Activity and Sports in School Age" organized by the Department of Sports Cartagena City Council in collaboration with the Directorate General of Sports of the Region of Murcia.

Record of participation in this edition has been broken again, with 38 schools in the municipality (seven more than last year) that met with teams in male and female mode:

Vicente Ros, San Fulgencio, La Aljorra, Luis Calandre, Miguel de Cervantes, Santiago Apostle, Azorín, Miralmonte, Virginia Pérez, CEIP San Isidoro, Garden City, Our Lady of Sorrows, San Francisco Javier, Virgen del Carmen, Feliciano Sánchez, Aníbal, Vicente Medina, Santa Forentina La Palma, San Cristóbal, La Vaguada, San Isidro, Félix Rodríguez de la Fuente, Leonardo da Vinci, San Félix, San Ginés de la Jara, Poet Antonio Oliver, La Concepción, Sacred Heart, Stella Maris , Maristas, Fernando Garrido, La Asomada, Narval, Salesianos, San Antonio Abad, Adoratrices, Virgen del Begoña and San Vicente de Paúl.

The Department of Sports, in collaboration with the Athletics Federation of the Region of Murcia, the Athletics Club El Cano and the Athletics Club Cartagena have coordinated a device composed of technicians from the Department of Sports, athletics judges, volunteers of the TAFAD of IES Mediterranean and 12 buses for the movement of participants and teachers.

The following tests have been disputed:

Race 10x10 meters, soft javelin throw, jumps to feet together from the standstill, medicine ball throwing, obstacle side jump, 5x1 relays and grand prix.

The classifications have been:

3rd CP San Fulgencio

MALE

1st CP Virgen del Carmen

2nd La Vaguada

3rd CP San Fulgencio

4th Salesians

The first classified schools will represent Cartagena in the Regional Final to be held on February 19 in Alcantarilla.

This same test but in the Benjamin category will take place on Thursday, February 27 at the Sports Palace of Cartagena.
