The IV Drawing and Children's Murals Contest ´Trinidad García´ will value the Mar Menor and its relationship with the Campo de Cartagena (06/02/2020)

For the fourth consecutive year, the Association of Neighbors of La Magdalena has convened the drawing contest and children's murals 'Trinidad García' for primary school students, with the collaboration of the City of Cartagena.

The contest, which aims to preserve and value cultural identity, traditions and customs, as well as the rich natural and cultural heritage in the Natural Region of the Cartagena countryside, will focus this edition on the Mar Menor.

The organization has decided this year that the works are about the Lagoon due to the current situation that it is going through, from the positive vision and providing solutions of the schoolchildren, giving color through their drawings to the different values ​​that the biodiversity of the Sea harbors Minor and its relationship with the countryside.

The contest establishes the possibility of using it as a teaching tool to work in the classroom.

In this fourth edition, the organization has the support of the Department of Education of the City of Cartagena, the Department of Education and Culture of the City of Fuente Álamo, the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT), the Service of Support to Technological Research (SAIT ), the Municipal Neighborhood Board of Molinos Marfagones, the Association of Friends of the Plastic Arts 'Pigmentos' and Miguel Ángel Fine Arts / Crafts.

The contest was presented this Thursday at the Consistorial Palace of Cartagena, in an act that has had the presence of the mayor of Education of Cartagena, Irene Ruiz Roca, his counterpart in the City Hall of Fuente Álamo, José Antonio Oliver ,.

the Vice Chancellor of Students, University Extension and Sports of the UPCT, Sergio Amat, and Francisco Montoya of the Association of Neighbors of La Magdalena, who have detailed all the information of this children's contest.

Carmen Cervera Mateu and María Esperanza Vicente López of the Pigmentos Artists Association have also been in the presentation.

As noted by the Councilor for Education, Irene Ruiz, the contest has had a great increase in participation year after year, "in the first edition with 20 schools and 800 jobs, in the second edition 30 schools and 1,400 schoolchildren, and in the third Edition 41 centers and a total of 1,700 works "and congratulated the organization for" promoting values ​​such as gender equality, cultural diversity and special education "

SCHOOLS

This edition keeps the reach of the schools of Cartagena, Fuente Álamo and La Unión and, as announced by Francisco Montoya, representative of the Association of Neighbors of La Magdalena, "the call to schools of San Javier, San Pedro is extended del Pinatar and Los Alcázares ".

In addition, the categories and prizes are increased, which will include laptops, tablets, paint cases, easels and sound equipment.

CATEGORIES

The prizes will be distributed in several categories: collective, individual and special, with prize for participation for all students, which will be drawn on the day of the awards ceremony, established on June 21.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE
