The Governing Board of the Cartagena City Council today approved the transfer to the regional administration of a plot of 1,425 square meters for the construction of the new health center in Barrio Peral, whose project is included in the draft regional budget.
As explained by the Councilor for Health, Commerce and Consumer Affairs, Manuel Padín, it is a plot located in the Partial Plan Sector Campo de la Rosa, which in 2006 was transferred free of charge to the Association of the Telephone of Hope (Amites) to build a new headquarters, but that never came to be.
“Once we have verified that Amites has not built its new headquarters in more than 10 years, the City Council has chosen to reverse the agreement and recover the plot and begin the procedures so that the residents of Barrio Peral have the new health center that They have been sued for so long and we are committed to the Government agreement.
Today we have taken the first step to make it a reality as soon as possible, ”said Padin.

The Board has also approved a generation of credit to incorporate the 125,000 euros of extraordinary grant granted to the City Council by the Tourism Institute of the Region of Murcia, aimed at repairing the damage caused by storms over coastal tourist infrastructure.
It has also approved the generation of a loan of 306,000 euros to include in the 2020 budget the amount that will allow the City Council to maintain its programs for Family and Child Care through a grant from the Autonomous Community.
Specifically, the Family Orientation, Family Respite and Home Help programs, as well as those for Child Care and Adolescence, which are carried out from Social Services.

The meeting today also approved the basis for the call for a new edition, number 11, of the Much More May Emerging Art festival, which this year will be held from May 8 to 17 under the title 'Before the collapse.

The projects that are selected through this call will become part of the official program of the festival, as noted by the Councilor for the area of ​​Culture, David Martínez.
In the same way, the bases for the selection of the artistic projects that will be exhibited in the different rooms managed by the Department of Culture, such as the Consistorial Palace, the Palace of Molina, the Byzantine Wall, the Carlos Gallego room on the ground floor of the Ramón Alonso Luzzy Cultural Center and the one on the first floor.
The selection will be made for the first time through a public and transparent call in which the artistic value of the proposals, the trajectory of their authors or the dissemination of values ​​of equality, sustainability and diversity, among others, will prevail.
EXTRAORDINARY YOUNG PEOPLE
Finally, among other matters, the call to celebrate what will be the second edition of the 'Extraordinary Youth' Awards has also been approved.
Organized by the Department of Youth, these awards are given to young Cartagena who have excelled in different areas and, with their effort, help build a better society.
