The Councilor for Social Services, Mercedes García, participated this Wednesday, January 29, in the presentation of a new edition of the program of aid to social projects of the La Caixa Social Project, which is renewed this year 2020, and are intended to collaborate with non-profit organizations

“Offering opportunities, fighting against inequality and favoring social cohesion constitute the essence of these grants and Cartagena is one of the cities in which they are being implemented, among other things, supporting the development of the Intercultural Community Intervention Program (ICI) in the hull and in the Station sector, collaborating in the centers for the elderly, contributing to combat social exclusion and, ultimately, helping us build a more just, cohesive and full of opportunities Cartagena, â€�said García.

Specifically, these are six social calls with different fields of action, including the promotion of personal autonomy and attention to aging, disability and disease;

fight against child poverty and social exclusion;

housing for social inclusion;

socio-labor insertion;

interculturality and social action;

and social action in rural areas.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the social entities to know the details of the calls, which allow initiatives to be directed especially to people who are in a situation of vulnerability and whose objective is to improve their quality of life and promote equal opportunities.

The social calls, which turn 20 years since its launch, contemplate six areas of action:

Personal autonomy and attention to aging, disability and disease.

Fight against child poverty and social exclusion.

Social inclusion housing.

.

Social and labor insertion.

.

Interculturality and social action.

.

Rural action in rural areas.

Social entities that work to improve the quality of life of people in vulnerable situations can now submit their project to the calls.
