This Thursday, January 30, the fourth roadshow event of the assistance mechanism of the Westmed initiative will be held in Cartagena, which deals with the Opportunities of the Blue Economy in the Western Mediterranean in the Region of Murcia.
It will be from 9.00 a.m., in the Military Historical Museum located in the Artillery Park, and the event, in which the City Council of Cartagena collaborates, will be assisted by the Councilor Delegate of Sustainable City and European Projects, Cristina Mora
The national coordinator of the WestMed Initiative / Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Lara Ventas, will explain the WestMed initiative and then the representative of the National Center of Spain for the WestMed Initiative Assistance Mechanism, Marta Pascual, will talk about the opportunities of the Blue Economy in the Western Mediterranean in the Region of Murcia.
After a brief pause, a Working Group will be organized around the development of blue projects in the Region of Murcia.
It will consist of an open but structured debate on ideas or possible new projects for new financing opportunities, to develop the Blue Economy in the Region of Murcia.
Finally, the assessment of assistance needs and facilitation by the WestMed Initiative.
The exchange of ideas will be based on the following questions:
-Experiences of your institution / organization / company in Blue Economy in the past and present.
-Experiences that you want to develop / address / promote from your institution / agency / company for the future.
-Need assistance (financing, search for partners, etc.) from your institution / agency / company on desired issues around the Economy.
Finally there will be a space to establish conclusions and next steps to be followed by the representative of the National Center of Spain for the Assistance Mechanism of the WestMed Initiative, Marta Pascual and representative of the Autonomous Government of the Region of Murcia.
ABOUT WESTMED
It is an initiative shared between the European Union (EU) and non-EU countries, which supports projects that promote the sustainable development of the blue economy in the western Mediterranean basin.
The countries involved are Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Malta, Algeria, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.
