The National Saetas Contest of Cartagena, organized by the Association of Portapasos of the Blessed Virgin of La Piedad, was presented yesterday, Saturday, at the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), in Madrid.
A representation of the Portapasos de la Piedad, accompanied by brothers from the Groups of Our Father Jesus Nazareno, the Blessed Virgin of Solitude and the Blessed Virgin of La Piedad accompanied the singer Antonio Ayala "El Rampa" and Luís Teba, at drum, during the singing of one of the bolts that are heard in our streets during Holy Week in Cartagena, at the stand of the Region of Murcia in Fitur.
The Marraja delegation was headed by the president of the Agrupación de Portapasos de la Santísima Virgen de la Piedad, José Jesús Guillén, accompanied by the president of the Agrupación de Nuestra Padre Jesús Nazareno, Manuel Hernández;
by the president of the Association of the Blessed Virgin of Solitude, Pedro Antonio Pérez;
and, by the president of the Association of the Blessed Virgin of Piety, Francisco Castillejo.

José Jesús Guillén took advantage of the occasion to invite the public to attend the semifinals and the final of the National Saetas Contest and, of course, to meet and participate in the Holy Week in Cartagena.

"El Rampa" surprised all attendees performing, for the first time and exclusively, a bolt composed by him dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Mercy.
"EL Rampa" has received countless awards throughout his career, among which are: La Union Mining Lamp, Flamenco Fan of Barcelona, ​​Saetas de La Unión Competition and the Melon de Lo Ferro Gold, among others .
Luís Teba has been participating uninterruptedly since he was 8 years old, and they are already 44 years old, in the processions of Holy Week in Cartagena.
He founded the Cartagena Percussion Youth Association to teach to mark the step that accompanies the processions of Holy Week in Cartagena.
During the performance of the cantaor, they were distributed among the assistants "rollicos of San Antón" and it was possible to taste the typical "Reparo" cartagenero.
Until January 28, the deadline to register for the contest whose bases are already available on the Contest website (www.portapasospiedad.es) and its social networks will be open.
It will be Friday, February 7 and Saturday, February 8, when the semifinals will be held at the Casa del Folklore in La Palma.
The Church of Santa María de Gracia will once again witness the final on Saturday, March 21.
The National Saetas de Cartagena Contest is endowed with the following awards:
FIRST PRIZE, endowed with 2,100 Euros and Trophy made by the sculptor D. Fernando Sáenz Elorrieta.
SECOND PRIZE, endowed with 1,050 Euros and Trophy of the Agrupación Nuestra Padre Jesús Nazareno.
