Ben Arabí de Cartagena presents the XXII Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado Award to the D´GENES Association]
The Association D´GENES, Association of rare diseases and other serious developmental disorders, yesterday received the XXII Jacinto Alcaraz Mellado Award, which is awarded annually by the Ben Arabí Institute to those people or institutions that have distinguished themselves for their work in favor of solidarity , tolerance and coexistence in the Region of Murcia.
D´GENES is made up of people affected by a Rare Disease, family members and professionals from various fields, with the purpose of creating a socio-sanitary space that serves as an exchange and coexistence among stakeholders, as well as promoting the dissemination and awareness of the problem of public health that are infrequent pathologies.
Its main objective is to undertake actions that contribute to improve the quality and life expectancy of those affected and their environment.
The award ceremony took place in the Auditorium of the Conservatory of Music of Cartagena, and was attended by Mr. Carlos Albaladejo Alarcón, General Director of Educational Innovation and Attention to Diversity, Ms. María Irene Ruiz Roca, Councilor of the Area of the Government of Education of the City Council of Cartagena and Mr. José Andrés Martínez Madrid, president of the AMPA of the IES.
Ben Arabi, who were in charge of delivering the trophy, which has an economic endowment of 600 euros to the association, represented by two members of its board of directors, Ms.
Mª Jesús Cánovas and Dª.
Mª Ángeles Díaz.
The twenty-third edition poster was also presented at the event, opening a new cycle that will conclude with the next installment next year, and two musical pieces performed by the students of the IES and the Conservatory, Ana Ros Hernández and Mª Dolores Martínez García.
The Director of the IES Ben Arabi, Mr. Manuel Díaz Segura highlighted the firm and consolidated commitment of the entire IES educational community.
Ben Arabí, with the promotion and dissemination of such relevant values ​​in our society as well as the importance of making an inclusive school in which all students can learn, regardless of their characteristics and the barriers that prevent it are removed.
