This morning, the members of MC Cartagena in the Neighborhood Board of La Palma, María Antonia Pérez and Francisco Tenedor, have registered, in the OMITA of the town, the request for an extraordinary plenary session of this management body.
They have been backed by the councilman from Cartagena in the town hall, Enrique Pérez.
The MC initiative has also been seconded by the VOX vocalist, José Miguel Villegas.
Given the inaction of the local government to tackle the growing problem of citizen insecurity suffered by our municipality in general and neighborhoods and districts in particular, the representatives of MC Cartagena in La Palma have promoted the aforementioned call to "treat, directly, unitary and exclusively by the Neighborhood Board the situation of insecurity suffered by La Palma for some time, aggravated in recent times, not only for the consummation of a significant number of crimes, but for the seriousness of these, with robberies in full light of the day and tickets to homes, "said Pérez.

"Before the caciquismo exerted from the presidency of our Neighborhood Board, we have had no choice but to promote the convening of the extraordinary plenary to give voice to the neighbors, who are denying that they discuss the issues that concern them. We have tried to circumvent the authoritarianism of the president, who does not even call the ordinary plenary sessions, demonstrating that his concern is greater to maintain his chair than to solve or denounce the serious problems suffered by the residents of La Palma. "
Initiative to solve the negligence of the local Executive
"The mixture of ineffectiveness and neglect of the local government has led to the neighbors themselves who must drive away theft in our streets, which have a spooky police presence, product of the lack of troops and the delay in the incorporation of new members ", highlighted the vocal of MC Cartagena.
More specifically, María Antonia Pérez has reported on the content of the plenary that she will propose to urge the City Council of Cartagena to "put all the means at its disposal and increase the presence of the Local Police, in addition to doing what is in their hands to eradicate the problem of illegally occupied homes. "
"Similarly, we will ask for your collaboration to coordinate efforts with other security forces, such as the Civil Guard, so that they have more means to fight against the insecurity that La Palma suffers."
Finally, Pérez has affirmed that "what we want is to achieve what has not been achieved so far. That the Government is forced to listen to the neighbors, because they are the ones they serve, and those who have so far found the silent one by answer while daily they suffer an evident helplessness that is aggravated by a feeling of impunity to which we must put an end "
