Getting to the top as a racing driver and training in Engineering, Architecture or Business studies could be a reality thanks to the creation of a new chair at the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT).
The UPCT has signed an agreement with the Cartagena Speed ​​Circuit to create the UPCT-Cartagena Circuit Chair through which research and training actions for students of the teaching institution will be carried out.
This Chair aims to promote the creation of a High Performance Center for pilots nationwide.
The objective is, as explained by the Vice Chancellor of Enterprise of the UPCT, Alejandro Pérez Pastor, that the competition teams of the University can go to said center to train and serve them to improve their technique and, in addition, the center serves "Effect called for pilots who are being trained and studying at the UPCT while they can combine it with their training as pilots."
On the other hand, through this chair you can conduct research on materials that isolate noise and mitigate the acoustic impact of the circuit, while testing new types of asphalt, among other tests.
The Network of Chairs of the UPCT is approaching half a hundred chairs.
With the incorporation of this, they are already 47 active in this network that combines technological, entrepreneurship and socioeconomic chairs.
They participate in leading companies and organizations in different sectors.
All carry out training, research and development or knowledge transfer activities in areas of common interest.
