Continuing with its efforts to promote actions and programs aimed at supporting the personal and professional development of the young population, the City Council of Cartagena, through the Department of Youth and the Agency for Local Development and Employment, has launched the IV Itínere Day for Youth Employment Dynamization, which this year is celebrated on February 25 at the El Batel Municipal Auditorium.
Under the motto 'Move towards employment', there is a wide program of activities presented this Wednesday, January 22, by the Councilors of Youth, David Martínez, and Employment, Irene Ruiz, where there are no lack of various workshops, training courses, points news and meetings with companies, all aimed at facilitating access to the workplace for young people.
Until February 21, the registration period for this Conference will remain open, in which it is expected to exceed 1,700 participants last year, as stated by David Martínez.
“Itínere is an example of the involvement of the City Council in the personal and professional development of the young population,†said the mayor of Youth, “the great results obtained in 2019, guarantees that this day is considered an excellent launch and contact platform direct between young people and companies, as well as an excellent opportunity for them to know the different options that can facilitate their incorporation into the world of work and successfully complete their transition to adult life â€
In this 4th edition, Itinere makes a strong commitment to promote that young job seekers acquire and train the so-called soft skills, skills that differentiate some candidates from others, as well as the work that machines do, in addition to improving relations with Partners and responsible.
This year's program also includes training activities for professionals working with young people, such as counselors, youth informants or teachers, which improves the learning of techniques and tools that facilitate their labor insertion.
In short, the day offers a total of 33 activities, which will be held throughout the day, in the morning and afternoon, whose target audience are young job seekers, between 16 and 30 years, as well as teachers, educators and all those professionals related to the youth world.
All this aimed at creating a place of "meeting, learning and development mainly for young people who want to start or continue their professional career, because, really, the future is in their hands," said Irene Ruiz, while emphasizing that “Itínere does not lose his personality, the spirit with which he was born four years ago, but is renewed in each edition to adapt to the changes that occur in the labor market, in companies, in institutions, and in the own young boys".
Activity summary
Within the Itínere program, which this year reaches its fourth edition, the following blocks of activities will be developed:
• Workshops to work skills and abilities that favor job search and develop entrepreneurial potential.
• Training courses to complement training and qualification in different fields, such as Order Management - Picking, Interactive Virtual Reality, Fantasy Makeup and Characterization, Microsoft Certification for Word.
In addition, the achievement of professional cards such as Food Handlers, Forklift Operators, Work Safety at Height and PRL in Masonry Work (TPC).
• Informal meetings with companies from different sectors and their Human Resources professionals, among which Navantia, Bolea Mechanics, Grupo Fuentes, G´s España, Hotel Alfonso XIII, Hotel Roc Doblemar, La Manga Club y Tomás SL
• Information and Resource Points where various entities and organizations such as: Department of Youth, Agency for Local Development and Employment, Regional Employment and Training Service, Directorate General for Youth, Directorate General of the European Union, Eurodesk and UPCT will offer advice and show their Programs and resources.
• CV orientation and review point, where young people who access with their curriculum may request their review with a counselor.
• In this 4th edition we will also find the Via de las Competencias, which will allow young participants to identify their skills for employment, but in a playful way, which fits perfectly with the millennial generation and with the Z generation, They come squeezing hard.
• In the Speaker Corner, an informal meeting place, very interesting programs and projects developed by the Department of Youth, Culture, and the Agency for Local Development and Employment will be announced.
Information will be offered to young people about study techniques and habits, options and career opportunities, professional experiences abroad, to facilitate the return of young Cartagena and for advice and support to artists in their projects.
• Two theatrical activities will be developed in this 4th edition.
On the one hand, the Agency for Local Development and Employment proposes, through activities and dynamics, to promote the development of goals and dreams in the young participants.
The School of Hospitality and Tourism will show the job opportunities offered by their degrees from the hand of outstanding professors and students, such as Mª Ángeles Calzada, student with national and regional awards.
• The Armed Forces in this edition will be abroad of El Batel offering information on job opportunities in the military field and carrying out flights with visitors in the hot air balloon Soldados.com
• This year, in Plenary Session, will be Elsa Punset.
The writer and disseminator is one of the main references in the application of emotional intelligence as a tool for positive change.
It will offer the keys to learn how to train the brain as an adaptable and creative muscle, to live together and collaborate with others, to communicate effectively, to resolve conflicts and overcome adversity.
