Cartagena has positioned itself as a MICE Congress and Tourism destination (Meetings, Incentive, Conventions and Events) this Wednesday in Madrid at the Cartagena Conference Office Workshop, which organizes, for the second consecutive year, Cartagena Puerto de Culturas.
The event, in working breakfast format, has allowed the port city to present itself to potential clients of the MICE and congress industry, creating a working meeting with the companies of the sector associated to the Cartagena Congress Office, with the objective of establish contacts and business opportunities between local and guest companies.
Thus, a total of 15 travel managers and representatives of large companies such as Banco Sabadell, FCC, Sacyr, RFranco or La Liga, have been invited to take part in the workshop.
The mayor of Cartagena, Ana Belén Castejón, in charge of opening the meeting, wanted to support the initiative, accompanied by the deputy mayor and councilor for Tourism, Manuel Padín, and the councilor for the Tourism area, Cristina Pérez.
“We started our journey at Fitur 2020 on Wednesday in this interesting meeting that will allow us to position ourselves as a MICE congress and tourism destination, in which we show, as we did a year ago, to companies across the country the multiple attractions and possibilities of our city to host these types of events, â€said the mayor.
It is the professionals of the corporate sector who have the capacity to decide on the holding of new congresses and professional meetings, a booming sector that has the support of the City Council of Cartagena.
Therefore, the mayor has been convinced: "This day will have a very positive impact on the economy of the city and when attracting tourists to Cartagena."
In the workshop, in which it has been able to taste Asian coffee, a total of 13 collaborating companies from the Congress Office participate, such as the Auditorium and Congress Hall El Batel, Gestípolis, La Manga Club Resort, Sheraton Hacienda del Álamo Spa & Golf Resort, Alfonso XIII Sercotel, Carlos III Sercotel, Los Habaneros Hotel, ARQUA Restaurant, Mediterranean Unique Experience, Submarine Shop, José Díaz Hotel Services and Tourist Apartments Cartagena Spain.
