This morning, the spokesmen of the Municipal Group MC Cartagena, José López and Jesús Giménez, have held two work meetings with the deans of the Bar and Attorney Bar associations, Alejandro Lozano and Antonio Navarro, respectively.
During both meetings, as the deputy spokesman, Jesús Giménez, has said, the Cartagena formation has announced to Attorneys and Lawyers that "during the next plenary session we will request the meeting of the Local Bureau of Justice to address all pending issues that suffer from the inactivity of 'La Trinca' ".
"This initiative has been well received by the deans before the prolonged veto of the mayor to the convocation of the Bureau," added the councilor of MC.
"This morning we have agreed with the deans of the schools in the need to find a location for the approved judicial units and that are pending to find location, confirming both parts that this should be the priority of work at the moment, objective that must be maintained regardless of political disputes, "Giménez explained.
MC Cartagena leads, once again, the initiative in the search for solutions to the problem of justice in Cartagena and our Region.
The installation of the new judicial units (civil and commercial courts) remains stagnant due to the inability of the local government to offer alternatives to the Ministry of Justice beyond the building of the old Peninsular Hotel already ruled out by the state administration for not having the minimum requirements.
Faced with this paralysis, MC already reported weeks ago to the bar associations and Attorneys, as well as to the Government delegate, about the suitability of locating these new judicial dependencies in the municipal building located in Ronda Ciudad de La Unión, No. 4, facilitating them the cadastral information of the property.
Along these lines, during the Plenary of the month of December, the Cartagenerist formation urged the Ministry of Justice to offer these facilities or any other suitable one to accommodate these dependencies.
The central government has also been proposed to use the facilities of Casa del Mar if it does not consider others.
However, the PP, Citizens and Transfugees Government remain anchored in inaction with the sole objective of paralyzing all projects and initiatives of interest to Cartagena.
Proof of this is that, despite the critical situation of justice, the mayor who has occupied the Mayor's Office since 2017, Ana Belén Castejón, has convened on a single occasion the Mesa de la Justicia, a municipal participation body created during the José López's Cartagena-based biennium to respond from the City Council to the needs of the municipality in this area and which has been vetoed by the transfugible mayor.
