On Saturday, January 18, the first test of the III Beach Volleyball Circuit UPCT 2020 took place, in its male and female categories.
From 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. couples coming from Almeria, Alicante, Murcia, Totana, Molina, Cartagena, etc. challenged the cold with their good game, which at this time of the year does not prevent them from doing the sport that most they like.
In the women's category, the champions were the Argentine player Florencia Fernández and her partner the Venezuelan player Jimmar Mejías, when she won the final by 21-14.
Third place fell on the side of the couple at the Playa Paraíso volleyball school, composed of Ágata Velasco and Celia Murcia, who won the pair 21-19, composed of the Paraguayan player Sandra Florenciañez and her Argentine partner Solange Fretes.
For its part, in the men's category, the final was composed of two couples coming from Almeria.
The winners were José Murillo from Almeria and his Italian teammate Marco Medici, when José María García and José Carlos García were imposed on Almeria by a score of 21-13.
In third place the Murcia Alejandro Colchero and Juan José Martínez imposed themselves on the local couple of the paradise beach volleyball school composed of the Vitorian Arturo SIvori and the Cartagena Carlos Victoria.
On Sunday, the mixed category took place, a category that is increasingly popular among the participants and that seeks to promote the values ​​of equality that are so necessary in society in these times and that luckily in the “sports beach volleyball†society â€If there is equality and boys and girls form a mixed couple with the same values.
The final victory fell on the side of the Murcia couple composed of Marta Galera and the Ecuadorian Danny López to be imposed in a tight final by 21-17 to the final champion couple of the II edition of the Circuit, composed by Juan José Martínez and Blanca Márquez.
The third place was also for a Murcia couple, thus filling the complete podium of Murcia couples, the Italian Vito Casano and Nuria Bernal won the Playa Paraíso couple composed of Carlos Victoria and Marta Casanova by a score of 21-13.
With the awards ceremony on Sunday, the first test of the circuit was concluded.
The second test will take place on February 15 and 16 and aims to repeat successful participation and good play.
