The Stand of the Region of Murcia and the Programming for the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), which will be held in Madrid from January 22 to 26, has been presented for the first time in Cartagena.
The event has taken place at the Roman Theater of Cartagena, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the Region.
The vice mayor, Noelia Arroyo, has expressed her gratitude to the Autonomous Community for two important milestones for the town: the transfer of the Ministry of Tourism to Cartagena and the great commitment that has been made of Cartagena and its region in FITUR.

Meanwhile, the Minister of Tourism, Cristina Sánchez, explained that the journey of the Region of Murcia in FITUR began in 1981, with the presence of three municipalities, Cartagena, Mazarrón and Águilas, and that in this edition, 39 years later , has 27 participating municipalities.
"These neighbors are proud to show what is important to them. And the Regional Government provides a showcase exposed to the world, FITUR."
The Stand of the Autonomous Community will be the main hall of tourism of each of the homes of the inhabitants of this Region, with three major attractions: Heritage of eternal Cartagena, the Spanish Captaincy of Regional Gastronomy and the Way of Vera Cruz.
The Minister of Tourism, Cristina Sánchez, said that they will hold more than 300 meetings with professionals, and as a novelty they will open two forums aimed at professionals in the tourism sector of the Region, in which different agents of national and international companies will participate, to discuss the current state of the tourism sector and its challenges.
THE STAND OF THE REGION OF MURCIA
The Stand of the Region of Murcia, which will be located in Hall 7 of Ifema, will have a giant screen of 48 square meters and a circular aerial, which will facilitate the visibility of the brand and the destination from any point of the pavilion.
While in another 10 screens, the diversity of the products and tourist destinations of the Region will be projected, with experiences as main claims, 500 square meters of Region of Murcia.
And it will have an experiential area with simulators and a counter in which members of the council and six official tourist guides of the region will serve all visitors.
On Thursday, February 23, the day of the Region of Murcia, the president of the Region of Murcia, Fernando López Miras, will make an intervention on the main stage to show his support for Cartagena to be recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage of Humanity .
On the same day, at the Tour España Auditorium, the Camino de la Vera Cruz will also be presented with the presence of López Miras, with the involvement of 82 municipalities and 5 Autonomous Communities.
And in this year the regional gastronomy, one of the great events will be the transfer of powers from the city of Almeria to that of Murcia, which will take place in the captaincy space at FITUR on Wednesday 22, with the assistance of some of the most acclaimed chefs of the moment.
