The Local Government Board has agreed at its meeting this morning to initiate the file for the development of a new regulation of the Register of De facto Couples of the City of Cartagena, in order to adapt the currently existing one, dating from 1995, to the recommendations of the Ombudsman regarding the requirements that foreigners must complete to access it, as well as the Law of Couples Act of the Region of Murcia of 2018.
Through this agreement in the coming days a process of prior consultation of citizens will be opened through the website so that they can make proposals and participate with it in the preparation of the draft regulations.
Since its creation in 1995, the municipal registry of de facto couples in Cartagena has been used by some 2,126 couples of the same or different sex.
DAMAGE FROM THE RAINS
The Governing Board has also approved the valuation of the damages registered in municipal property and infrastructure during the rainy season of December 2 and 3, for its referral to the General Delegation of the Government with a view to obtaining aid.
The valuation of damages amounts to 123,121 euros, which are added to the damages already declared for an amount of 5.5 million euros, corresponding to the DANA of the month of September.
300 thousand euros for the amphitheater
The Government Board has also treated the arrival of funds from the Ministry of Development, from 1.5 percent cultural, for the completion of the intervention works in the southern quadrant of the Roman Amphitheater, which will entail the consolidation of the double ring wall from the old bullring.
Specifically, it is about 297,500 euros that the Board has agreed to incorporate into the municipal budgets, in order to continue the recovery work of this important archaeological site, which is within the priorities of the Municipal Government Plan.
100 THOUSAND EUROS FOR GENDER VIOLENCE
Another important issue has been the arrival of grants from the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia amounting to about 100,000 euros to prevent and combat gender violence.
Thus, the Government Board has accepted a regional grant of 19,500 euros with which the City Council of Cartagena will update its plans and programs to prevent gender violence;
as well as another of about 80,000 euros aimed at the creation of a new residential resource, a sheltered apartment, for women victims of gender violence.
TRAINING PLAN AGREED WITH THE TRADE UNIONS
Finally, the Governing Board has approved the Training Plan for municipal public employees by 2020, with an initial budget of about 101,800 euros, although it is expected to reach 130,000 euros.
The plan has been agreed with the four unions and includes the carrying out of some 123 training actions, in addition to 28 types of guided practices for each of the 5 shifts of the firefighting service personnel, representing a total of 140 scheduled practices.
The main novelty will be the implementation of online courses through the Training School of the Autonomous Community, which will prevent travel.
