The Councilor for Finance and Public Function, Esperanza Nieto, has been confident in returning to resume dialogue with the union representatives of municipal employees, after they have left the negotiating table today and requested new interlocutors with the municipal government.
Nieto has said he fully understands the frustration of the union representatives, "but the reality is what it is and all economic reports warn us that it is unfeasible to apply the Agreement on Working Conditions in its entirety."
"That is why negotiation is the only way to reach an agreement. I trust that they will reconsider their position and feel they are trying to find with the Government the best solution for municipal employees," the councilor added.
Esperanza Nieto has also explained that the application of the agreement is suspended and "the will of the Government is to lift that suspension for those parts of the agreement that are economically acceptable. That is why we have asked the unions to tell us what are the priorities of all the workers to study whether they are viable and establish an application calendar. "
