The activities of the Cartagena Piensa program organized by the City Council and the Promoter Group of the project begin, with about 80 activities that will meet in different territories of the municipality during the first quarter of 2020. The proposals are aimed at developing a social space for reflection and debate about scientific thought and culture, as well as a pillar of public culture.
The Councilor for Culture, David Martínez, said that "Cartagena is the first city council that has decided to make this line of work permanent, opening a process of innovation in cultural policy that has a great path ahead and is called to be replicated in many other places. "
For his part, the special delegate of Culture, Carlos Piñana, said that "we are obliged to work so that, among all, institutions and society in all its expressions, we add and work together to achieve our shared goals of social development and cultural".
The event was also attended by the representative of the Cartagena Piensa Promoter Group, Belén Rosa de Gea, the representative of the Cartagena Silence Circle, Antonio Sicilia, of the Organizing Committee in Cartagena of the Education Days for the 21st Century, Encarna Cánovas, of the Federation of Associations of Neighbors of Cartagena and Region, Irene Liarte and Juani Pila, and the head of the Scientific Culture Unit of the UPCT, José Luis Serrano.
This quarter there will be debates, presentations, courses, workshops and cultural proposals of various kinds to bring the most relevant concerns of society with the presence of guests - who are among the best interlocutors and actors in each area.
Among other topics, education will be specially addressed with the 'One Education Days for the 21st Century' and other guests;
and the situation of migrants and refugees, with the acts of the Solidarity Days 'Here we just want to be human'.
There will also be talk of a climatic emergency, of art and thought, of feminism, of science and consumption, of historical memory, circular economy, of democratic quality, among other topics.
Likewise, workshops on ecology and urban gardens, science and technology, philosophy for children will be developed, children's eco-workshops for adaptation to climate change, subjectivity and violence, a gender perspective in everyday life, infoxication and social networks .
As well as traditional reading clubs and coffee awareness and thought (about the world of Amazon, Secularism and religion and emergency psychology).
