His Majesties from the East will bring magic and illusion to Cartagena on Sunday with visits, meetings and the traditional Cavalcade (03/01/2020)

The Magi from the East are already traveling to Cartagena to spread the joy and enthusiasm among children and adults on the magical day of January 5.

And, their Majesties will stop their busy schedule on such a special day to travel the streets of the city and bring their magic to everyone, in a wide schedule of activities and meetings organized by the Department of Celebrations of the City of Cartagena .

Together with their royal pages, Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar will begin the day visiting the Children's Home and the Nursing Home in the early morning.

By 10.45, they will be accompanying the children admitted to the Santa Lucia hospital, to whom they will bring not only gifts, but also encouragement and strength to recover and return home soon.

Then, they will leave for the San Pedro Pier, where they will embark on the Catamaran of Puerto de Culturas with destination the Alfonso XII pier.

There, shortly before 12.00, the Cartagena will receive you with a big party with music, entertainment and inflatables on their way to the City Hall, where the mayor, Ana Belén Castejón, along with the other members of the municipal corporation, will receive before 12.30 the reception of His Majesties begins to the children of Cartagena.

In this way, the little ones can send their letters and wishes directly to the Kings of the East, a few hours before the start of the ride that will take them to travel the streets of the city.

Already in the afternoon, the royal parade will begin around 18.30.

RIDE

A total of 18 floats will make up the procession that will close their Majesties.

As usual, the ride will depart from the Alameda de San Antón and travel through emblematic areas of Cartagena such as the Alameda de San Antón, Plaza de España, Paseo Alfonso XIII, Santa Florentina Street, Carmen Street, Jabonerías Street, Sagasta Street, Doors of Murcia, Calle Mayor and Plaza del Ayuntamiento, distributing magic and thousands of candies and toys to Cartagena and visitors who want to accompany them on this tour.

The councilor of Festejos, Juan Pedro Torralba, has valued that, once again, neighborhood associations turn to participation in the Cavalcade and stressed that from the area he directs "we have worked so that all Cartagena can enjoy this Magic night".

In addition, the City Council has reserved six areas for people with disabilities or functional diversity to enjoy the Cavalcade.

This year, as a novelty, two new points will be installed, one on San Basilio street with Alameda de San Antón and another on Paseo Alfonso XIII, next to the Jiménez de la Espada pavilion, which are added to the four areas that have already been enabled last year (San Roque street with Calle del Carmen, Puertas de Madrid, Puertas de Murcia with Villamartín street and Calle Mayor, next to the Town Hall Square), so that everyone can enjoy the tour of His Majesties.

Likewise, the City Council of Cartagena has increased the number of carriages that will parade the night of January 5.

Thus, 14 associations throughout the municipality will have a float with which to participate in the parade, on topics as diverse as nature, children's films or animation series.

In addition, to these floats, which will deal with Snow White and the 7 dwarfs;

Birds and flamingos, swans and boat;

Peppa Pig;

The little Mermaid;

Chinese dragon;

the Lion King: the lion raised;

The Smurfs;

Mario Bros;

The Lion King Guard;

Dragon ball;

Toy Story and a buggy with their horses, the royal floats, one of El Corte Inglés and numerous entertainment and music groups will be added, forming the magical courtship that will escort the Kings of the East through our city.

Specifically, 6,700 large stuffed animals, 12,000 anti-stress balls, 10,000 small stuffed animals, 5,000 soft keychains, 3,500 kg of candies and 90,000 bags of jelly beans will be distributed during the parade.

Some of these stuffed animals have been donated, such as the 500 bears contributed by UCAM.

The ride will end its tour in the Town Hall Square, after which its Majesties must leave quickly to be able to arrive on time to all the houses in which children and adults expect, as every year, with enthusiasm, their gifts.
